this is a small painting I did as a means to get into painting as it was a medium I hadn't used much but now i have no idea why its so much fun and if you make a mistake you can just paint over.

This painting is going to be a present for my friend the peacock is her favorite animal, I really enjoyed painting this

Seaside Bag's

My fabric designs made up into bag's, all inspired by the British seaside and old holidays, the bags themselves are a ongoing project whilst I don't have the resources to print my own fabric I am experimenting with printing over fabric. I am especially interested using subject matter that either relates or contrasts with the choosen fabric.

This print was inspired by aerial views that birds have over large natural areas such as beaches.

These were done quite a while ago, if i had the chance to make my own fabric for my bag's again I feel I would do so much different but this was a great starting point; And a great challenge at the time. these are all digitally printed but due to the nature of the subject I felt that a more simplistic approach to the prints would convey the imagery better so allot of the designs appear as though they could be screen printed.

A day in the life

Liverpool Museums beautiful butterfly collection; even though there is something creepy about pinned butterfly's I find them really aesthetically pleasing.

Some of the moths have much better markings than any of the butterfly's, and they have the most interesting facts too.

Crystallized minerals

Jaws, the picture doesn't really to justice to how sharp those teeth are.

Aside from the stunning patterns the labels really caught my eye too, the hand written descriptions and dates the way everything is presented made me think about how I could incorporate this clinical archiving into pattern.

A picture is worth more than a thousand words

I started to think about how print could take on elements of Illustration as allot of my inspiration is taken from  Illustrators Edward Gorey a particular favorite. These designs were Based on the Greek Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.

Room settings - Bringing the outside inside

These are some room settings of some of the designs in my previous posts even some new designs not yet shown,  the room settings help convey the functionality of the prints.

When designing these prints I knew that I wanted them to be a tool of escapism, I'm 22 and still live with my mum and dad my room is the only place were I have complete creative control. The wall facing my bed is covered with Parisian buildings, I sometimes like to pretend I'm in that  film 'my girlfriends boyfriend' so when designing these prints i wanted to emulate that feeling, make wallpaper that could capture your imagination.
